What's your list!?

So you can see how much we get on the computer! Busy, busy, busy...MaryEllen has been reading away with what we call "worldly" books. You know the kind, supermarket paperbacks that you finish in a couple of days. A nicer title for them may be the "Great Escape" books. I've just finished book 3 of the Eragon Series, "Brisingr". It took me more than a couple of days, but I do enjoy that series. This one was a little more violent, had alot of war scenes that were very detailed, but I like the story line and lessons learned. It was suppose to be a trilogy...but now there is going to be a book 4. One more to add to the list of things to read. It seems my list of books I want to read never shrinks down.
For those of you fantasy nuts, the Looking Glass Wars is a great series to add to your list of books to read. A fun take-off on "Alice in Wonderland" it gives the original fairy tale an interesting twist. I'm anxiously waiting for book 3 to be published (that's on my list to read too).

"Picture of Dorian Gray" (I've always wanted to read it...finally moved it up the list)

So, we haven't had time to read or write since we've been spending too much time finding songs for our playlists that we added to the bottom of our blog page. It sure has dated us...but made us feel young again! MaryEllen really can't sing in case you were wondering, but don't tell her. How many songs do you recognize...and have memories from? It's amazing how certain songs bring back very clear memories...like the song "Faithfully" which reminds MaryEllen of her ucky old boyfriend Steve (not her husband) and how she hated the song cause she knew he was not...faithful (ouch), and Michelle ice skating with orange pom poms on her toes to "Waiting for a Girl Like You" during couple skate with Steve (not MaryEllen's husband or her ucky ex-boyfriend). So do share...which of these songs do you remember...and with who....please note: if it has to do with a Steve of anykind please let us know.

So many books....so little time.
Where to start!?!
We decided to start with one of our favorite books, (which of course is a book we just recently finished since our favorite book is usually the book we are currently reading).
"The Hourglass Door" by Lisa Mangum is a FANTASTIC book for all you "Twilight" nuts, and we say that in the most loving of tones! This book is filled with mystery, suspense, and a great 'star-crossed' lovers romance but does not have any vampires or other sinister creatures roaming about. This book is an enjoyable read for teenagers as well as those of us 'more mature' in age.
This first book in what will become a trilogy, starts with our main characters in their senior year of a small high school. Enter Abby, with her perfect boyfriend, and her predictable life that gets turned upside down with the arrival of a mysterious exchange student. What follows is a fascinating ride that will give you a couple of great "wow" didn't see that coming moments, as well as a very intriguing plot that is truly unique.
Start off your summer reading list with this great title!!!

So....We finally decided to take our noses out of the books long enough to join the "real" world and get a blog. Really....we're not kidding. After much deliberation on mine and MaryEllen's part, we have painstakingly picked out a name, email and a blog site.
WOW that was tough!! We have a hard enough time deciding on what we are eating for lunch, let alone trying to pick out a background and font color. But we managed and we are starting our blog page to share with our friends and family some of the things we love the most....namely....BOOKS, intermixed with updates on our lives, photos of our kids, and goings on and such, and what I'm sure will be very profound comments (remember we like to read not write!)
